Mr Chris Manteit
Chris Manteit Chairman

Chris is a second generation body repairer, starting his apprenticeship in 1996 and took over Toowong Milton Body Repairs from his father in 2008.

Originally established by his parents in 1978, Toowong Milton Body Repairs has grown to become a leading body repair business, while still being owned and run by the family.

He Joined the Car Craft in 2011 and then joined the Board of Car Craft in 2012. He became chairman of the board in 2013.

Chris is also is an active member of the body repair committee for MTAQ and currently holds the position of vice chairman.


Mr Tony Savva
Tony Savva Director

Tony has been involved in the smash repair industry for 36 years.

Tony has owned and run Mangano Body Repairs for the last 20 years since 1997. During that time he also purchased Sprayland and integrated the two businesses into one as they were next door to each other.

In 2011, Tony purchased Cambridge Body Works and re named it Cambridge Collision Centre.  He is active in both businesses and his eldest daughter Alexandria manages Mangano Body Repairs.

Tony was one of the first shops to join Car Craft in 2011 and was a founding Board Member.

Tony is also an active member of the Body Repair Committee for MTAQ .


Mr Cory Wells
Cory Wells Director

Cory is a 3rd generation repairer, having started his panel beating apprenticeship at Wells Bodyworks in Hobart in 2001, a business which was started by his late grandfather in 1974.

Apart from a 12 month stint in another shop, he has worked in the family business for his entire career.

He migrated north in 2005 when his parents moved to the Gold Coast and opened Wells Smash.

Cory took over managing Wells Smash in 2011 and has worked tirelessly within the business, always looking for new opportunities. He has recently secured contracts with the Gold Coast theme parks, taking on all of their fibreglass work.

Wells Smash joined Car Craft in 2013, and Cory was appointed to the Board in October 2015.


Carl Agnew
Carl Agnew Director

Carl started his panel beating apprenticeship with Dorling Bros in the Southern suburbs of Sydney in 1985.

After completing his trade he worked at various shops throughout NSW, before heading to the Gold Coast in 1993.

In 1994 Carl and his brother Chris purchased Sommerville Smash Repairs, which has grown to be one the biggest shops on the Gold Coast.

Sommerville Smash joined Car Craft in 2015 and Carl has been very active within the group since.

As a result of his involvement he was asked to nominate for the position of director and was successful in be voted to the position in October 2015.

Carl is also heavily involved with the Variety Club and is a regular on their charity drives.


Mr Paul Dawson
Paul Dawson Director

Paul joined the industry in the mid 1980’s, and worked at Sureline Body Repairs for many years, both as a panel beater tradesman and then as the manager.

In 2010 Paul and his wife bought the business and subsequently joined Car Craft in 2012.

Paul was appointed to the board in 2014.

Paul is a very active Car Craft advocate and is always striving to improve his business and assist other like- minded industry people.


Mr Ben Chesterfield
Ben Chesterfield State Manager Queensland

Ben has extensive body repair industry knowledge and started this journey with a dual panel beating /spray-painting apprenticeship in 1982.

He was awarded the highest pass in NSW in his final year in 1985.

Ben then commenced working for himself in 1986, and ran his own body repair facility before selling it in 1999.

He then spent the next 11 years as a Motor Loss Assessor and assessing supervisor before taking on the role of Divisional Manager for the Motor Trades Association of QLD.

During his 4 years at MTAQ he was responsible for the Body Repair Division, as well as sitting on many committees for different divisions. Whilst in this role Ben also completed a Diploma of Business Management.

Ben joined Car Craft early in 2015 and also now holds a position on the body repair committee of the MTAQ.
